THE PROBLEM WITH MAN
By nature, people love darkness rather than the light because of the effect of sin in our lives. We all have inherited a sinful nature due to the fall of Adam in the garden. “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned.”
Each of us has, also, committed our own sin against God in thought, word and deed. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” The wages of sin is death and the punishment for sinning against a holy God is eternity in hell. (Rom 5:12, Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23, Rev 21:8)
THE GRACE OF CHRIST
Here’s the good news. God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, (both fully-God and fully-man) into the darkness of this sinful world to save all those who would believe in Him. Jesus is the light of the world. He lived perfectly, without sin.
Upon the cross, He took upon Himself, the punishment that you deserved for your sins against God. He died and then three days later He, forever, defeated sin and death when He rose from the grave.
Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for all those who trust in Him, alone, to be saved. “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.” Jesus commands everyone to repent (turn from your sin and turn toward God) and believe the good news. This is the only way you can made right with God.
Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and He will change you into a new creation that has new desires to live for Him. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” (John 3:16, Phil 2:6-8, 2 Cor 5:21, 1 Cor 15:20-22, Rom 8:34, Eph 2:8-9, Mark 1:15, 2 Cor 5:17)
